Because sizing can vary between manufacturers and styles, we recommend checking the size chart for the specific product you are ordering.
How Garments Are Measured
Most garment measurements on BlankClothing.ca are shown in inches.
Common measurements include:
- Body Length: generally measured from the highest point of the shoulder or collar to the bottom hem.
- Body Width: measured across the garment from side to side, usually approximately pit to pit.
- Sleeve Length: measurement method varies by manufacturer and may be measured from the centre back or shoulder to the sleeve hem.
Allow for Manufacturing Variation
Garments are textile products and small variations can occur during manufacturing. Measurements may vary by approximately up to 1 inch from published specifications.
Comparing With a Shirt You Already Own
One of the easiest ways to choose a size is to lay a garment that fits you well on a flat surface and compare its measurements with the size chart for the product you are considering.
Keep in mind that previously worn or washed garments may have experienced some shrinkage.
Youth Sizing
Youth garment sizing should be selected using the published garment measurements rather than trying to match a youth size to a specific age.
What Does Classic Fit Mean?
A classic fit generally has a straighter cut and provides additional room through the chest and waist compared with more fitted or fashion-oriented styles.
